Virtually Possible: New Horizons in Sexual Health

Dear Colleagues:

We are pleased to invite you to attend the 2022 STD Prevention Conference to be held virtually from September 19-22.

The STD Prevention Conference occurs every two years, and the 2022 Conference will be organized by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Coalition of STD Directors. We are working hard to put together a scientific program that is sure to enlighten, challenge, and inspire participants while addressing a range of topics around our conference theme, “Virtually Possible: New Horizons in Sexual Health.”

This conference comes at an exciting and challenging time as we encounter unprecedented rates of STDs and technological advancements that continue to transform social networks, our health care delivery system, and STD prevention practices. The 2022 STD Prevention Conference will provide us an opportunity to examine our work in the context of these changes and identify new approaches to confront the varied syndemics each of us face from STDs and HIV to substance use.

The four-day conference program includes:
  • Five conference plenaries and two mini-plenaries, providing multiple perspectives on essential STD research from technological advances in health to STD transmission dynamics
  • 12 oral abstract and one poster session featuring cutting edge developments in STD program prevention and research from institutions around the world
  • Six symposia sessions highlighting the latest developments in STD prevention and control
  • Four debates on behavioral interventions for STIs, Real-time STI data, Test of cure (TOC) for pharyngeal gonorrhea, and STI interventions increase in health inequity
  • An array of other events and sessions, including a “Meet the Expert” and Clinical Case Series sessions

We look forward to celebrating the progress we’ve achieved in STD control and prevention so far, while fostering new ideas and insights for the future. We hope you will join us this September!
